The second release of Sarmate, but a completely different beast – Chardonnay dominant and 50% vinified in oak. Consequently, the wine boasts the same fresh, zesty energy of the original release but this time the mouthfeel is rounder with more texture on the palate and subtle notes of toast and brioche in the background. A worthy successor to the debut release.
House Profile
Based in the village of Sermiers, in the south of the Petite Montagne de Reims, Perrine is one of the very few independent winemakers in a village dominated by a co-operative. Sarmate is her debut cuvée and really shows her potential. We're excited to see where her wines are heading!
