A brilliantly precise and crisp entrance to the style that is J.L. Vergnon. Made from vineyards in Villeneuve and Vertus and produced as brut nature, this cuvée expresses a floral and mineral front end with herbaceous notes. The palate is bright, tense and shows more of that yummy minerality. Whilst it is brut nature there is lovely little drop of honeysuckle on the finish.
House Profile
Founded in 1950 by Jean-Louis Vergnon, the family own 7ha predominantly in the Grand Cru village of Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, with some additional plots in Oger, Avize, Vertus and Villeneuve. They are HVE certified and vinify in steel and oak, with no malolactic fermentation. The range of wines they create are archetypal Côte des Blancs Chardonnay – clean, crisp, chalky with wonderful structure and balance of fruit.
