We are fortunate at Sip Champagnes to get access to some of the most exciting, innovative and downright delicious Champagnes the world has ever seen.

Last year we brought you a brand-new wine from Gaspard Brochet, labelled Lion Tome I. A pure Pinot Noir from the renowned single vineyard of ‘Le Mont Benoit’, its situated on a beautiful south facing slope, just west of Reims in the village of Villers-aux-Noeuds. Brought to fame only in the last few years by the magicians, Emmanuel Brochet and Frederic Savart, it creates stunningly structured and rich wines with amazing salinity and texture.

Lion Tome I was a revelation. It was as good a first release as you could possibly imagine – we sold out within days – and, when we received a small batch pre-release of Tome II, we sold out before it even landed in our warehouse!

Since then, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for what the next release will bring and we couldn't be more excited to reveal what treats lie in store for you…

Gaspard Brochet latest release…

With only his second release we see the full depth of his palate. The sensational Tome II Pinot Noir we sampled last year has arrived in greater numbers, along with a pure Chardonnay Tome I and a Pinot Noir/Chardonnay blend. These are serious wines. Wines that make you think. You do more than just enjoy them, you embrace them. They are truly some of the most exciting and engaging wines I have ever tasted.

Tasting notes

Created in homage to his grandfather who first created a blend of 50/50 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay back in 1944, this wine is everything you expect and want from the idea of a blend of these two noble grapes. Both rich and warm with lovely vertical Chardonnay driven freshness. It never loses the lateral tension and texture which lifts it even above the two individual expressions of the grapes. This is as good a blend as you could possibly imagine.
