Pinot Noir is the emblematic grape variety of the Montagne de Reims and the Mont Benoit terroir is renowned for producing rich and robust examples. The Maison typically uses this plot for red wine in their rosé, so it made perfect sense to take it a step further and create a pure red wine. Vibrant, fresh and fruity, this is a great example of the excellent reds that are being created in the appellation. Serve slightly chilled.
House Profile
The Brochet name bounds around the region of Champagne and beyond. But not this one. Until now. Having tasted several hundred wines during an exhausting trip to Champagne, we came across this magic producer and the wine jumped out of the glass at us. Based in the village of Ecueil in the north west of the region, they produce masterfully juicy, rich wines from their ample 13 hectare holdings. They hold both VD and HVE and you sense that honesty, thought and precision in their wines.
