Champagne & Coteaux Combo
Champagne isn't only about sparkling wine. In fact, there is a growing trend towards still red and white wines, known as 'Coteaux Champenois'.
This selection combines one of the best examples in the region alongside a classic Grand Cru Côte des Blancs Chardonnay and a fascinating rich blend from the Aube – a trio that truly captures the wonderful diversity of the Champagne region.
J.L. Vergnon Conversation
Classic Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, with everything you want from the terroir – crisp green apple, with a vertical nose. The front end is warm and chalky front with an impressive weight of green fruit on the palate and a really nice sugar delivery.
Champagne Alexis Les Coteaux d'Onésime 2017
Pure Meunier harvested in 2017 from the plots Les Bazils/Les Plantes and La Vigne Gervais in Troissy on the bank of the Marne river. This is a lovely ripe, fruity and light bodied still red wine that reflects the true nature of the Meunier grape with flavours of cherry, raspberry and violets.
Dosnon Cuvée Alliae
A brilliant rich blend of 50/50 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay from one of the most southerly villages in the appellation. Vinified in 228 litre barrels (10% new) there is a great warmth and depth to the palate without being overpowering. A fabulous example of the power and finesse of Champagne from the south.
