Made from old vines planted on the hillsides of Chouilly in 1947, the intensity of the Chardonnay grapes is balanced by cooler climate throughout the '13 growing season. The result is a really nicely balanced Chardonnay that captures the fresh chalk and mineral style of the village with pulpy fruit and the start of some beautiful toasty notes from both 50% oak vinification and ample time in bottle.

House Profile

Press Reviews

"A beautifully matured, complex and taut cuvée from Chouilly (from the cool northwestern parcel Derrière Partelaine) and half-vinified in old oak. There’s plenty of expressive brown butter, honey-nut and toasted spice richness here, but the baked apricot fruit is surprisingly fine and narrow, perhaps thanks to the cool 2013 vintage. This still holds all of the crispness and refreshment value of a fine Blanc de Blancs, but plays delightfully with age and oak – 93"
