A fascinating cuvée from a single vineyard in Oger. Made as a brut nature with the specific intention of focusing on the aromatics that, if the vintage allows, brings out a muscat note on the nose. You get a hint of this, alongside the very beginnings of age with a touch of brioche but, ultimately, it is the youthfulness really wins through. The palate is brilliantly round and inviting showing great structure for the vintage, with plenty of depth and length.
House Profile
Founded in 1950 by Jean-Louis Vergnon, the family own 7ha predominantly in the Grand Cru village of Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, with some additional plots in Oger, Avize, Vertus and Villeneuve. They are HVE certified and vinify in steel and oak, with no malolactic fermentation. The range of wines they create are archetypal Côte des Blancs Chardonnay – clean, crisp, chalky with wonderful structure and balance of fruit.
