Artisan Champagne Introduction

The world of Champagne can be a complex and imposing place, so here at Sip Champagnes we like to make things easy.

If this is your first foray into the world of artisan Champagne then look no further than this non-vintage exploration three-pack! Featuring the three main grapes of Champagne –  Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – from three classic regions, it’s the ideal introduction to Champagne’s rich variety, and an unmissable opportunity to discover where your tastes lie.

Bonaire Terroirs

From the brilliant Grand Cru village of Cramant this is a wonderful example of classic Côte des Blancs Chardonnay. The nose is bright with loads of confected apple whilst the palate has wonderful texture, a delicate mousse and, as you might expect, a sweet, chalky backbone. As it opens the complexity builds along with a playful pithy note. Very well done!

Alexis La Terrre Mere

A wonderful example of pure Meunier from the village of Troissy in the Marne valley. The nose is pert and fruity whilst the palate is creamy with a good chalky bite and ample sweet fruit. The mid to late brings straw, bramble and apple and, as it opens, it gives you loads of pastry and jam, whilst the texture ramps up with a lovely sweetness marrying with bitterness.

Didier Herbert Grand Cru Pinot Noir Brut

100% Pinot Noir from the renowned Grand Cru village of Verzenay in the east of the Montagne de Reims. The nose is rich – filled with blueberries and blackberries. The palate is dry on the front end with a delicious layer of complex black fruits, followed by a dusting of sugar and fruit that really lifts up the mid to late. It’s a great example of this noble grape on home turf.
