The nose screams brambles and forest fruit notes but the wine is all about the Chardonnay on the palate right now. Hints of exotic fruit and butter but there is lovely bitter lift right on the mid to late that I love. That bramble note interlinks really nicely with a forceful touch of salt right on the finish. There is also surprising depth and length for a '09.
House Profile
We totally fell in love with this producer when we first visited nearly 10 years ago. Based in Damery, with vines in 57 plots in 7 villages, predominantly Meunier, their wines show a crisp style and age like legends. They acquired the HEV certificate recently and there is a real honesty to their winemaking and wines.
