There's a golden hue with tiny bubbles. The nose shows a fabulous balance of pine nut and toast. The palate is immediately creamy, rich and concentrated. There's loads going on on the mid, with beautiful concentration and a lovely lift before the sweetness of the fruit takes over. As it opens, the palate really defines itself; initially dark stone fruits turn to blackcurrants and redcurrants which, as it folds back into the palate, turns to wild strawberries and raspberries on the finish, which is literally endless.
House Profile
Bryan took charge of his family Maison, Marx-Coutelas & Fils in 2017. A few years down the line, he selected 1.5 hectares from their 7 hectare holdings in Venteuil to start his own side project, with a view to creating a completely different style of cuvée. The result is Domaine des Tuileries. Each wine is oak vinified and represent distinct profiles from the estate with a particular focus on the beauty that can be brought by individual barrels. For a first release, they are staggering!
