A stunning cuvee made from two vineyards in Mesnil sur Oger, Les Chetillons and Mussettes. Steel vinified and aged on lees for 10 years, this wine screams Mesnil! Bright and brilliant fruit profile on the front end – green apple, melon and a hint of almond. The palate, as you would expect from 2012, is generous and forward but you know this has so much going for it if you chose to pop it in the cellar. The mid to late picks up beautifully and you are left with a brilliantly pert and saline finish.

House Profile

Founded in 1950 by Jean-Louis Vergnon, the family own 7ha predominantly in the Grand Cru village of Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, with some additional plots in Oger, Avize, Vertus and Villeneuve. They are HVE certified and vinify in steel and oak, with no malolactic fermentation. The range of wines they create are archetypal Côte des Blancs Chardonnay – clean, crisp, chalky with wonderful structure and balance of fruit.
