Looking to get acquainted with the world of Artisan Champagne?
At under £40 per bottle, this is the perfect, great value selection to get you started! With two Chardonnays, two Pinot Noirs, a Meunier, and a blend for good measure, this case allows you to explore the region and discover where your tastes lie.
Pertois Lebrun L'Extravertie
Classic Côte des Blancs Chardonnay from a clutch of Grand Cru holdings. Clean and chalky with tart lemon, fresh cut grass and a fascinating note of green chartreuse that is rare but delicious!
Trousset Guillemart Blanc de Noirs
From Chardonnay to Pinot Noir now and a fabulous producer from the Petite Montagne de Reims – classic grower Pinot territory! There is a lovely juicy delivery with a hint of oyster shell that balances it so well.
Beaugrand Blanc de Blancs
Another Chardonnay but a totally different style. Coming from the most southerly chalk outcrop in Champagne – the village of Montgueux – this cuvée brings much more in the way of tropical fruit and depth, without losing that crisp freshness.
Paul Clouet Selection
A fruity blend of 50/30/20, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier respectively, with 7g/ltr. Coming from the legendary village of Bouzy this is a great comparison to Bollinger (similar blend, dosage and region). The wine displays a lovely round, fruity profile with a little chalk and a crisp, dry finish.
Caze-Thibaut Naturellement
No NV selection would be complete without a Meunier... and what a Meunier! Coming from the heart of the Marne Valley, vigneron Fabien Caze, has created a really fine example that captures all the rich fruit that Meunier is so renowned for but with wonderful freshness too.
Dosnon Recolte Noir
The final bottle from this selection takes us all the way to the southely Aube. In contrast to more northerly Pinot, this cuvée is bolder and luscious with an amazing toasty palate with a lovely touch of sugar and salinity on the finish.
