Based in Ecuiel and planted in 1984, La Repetition takes some time to reveal itself in the glass, especially when cold. The nose eventually brings you violets, exotic fruits on a creamy, toasty bed. The palate initially feels more central but widens nicely as it warms bringing a gorgeously unctuous level to this. Ripe cherry, plum and a hint of rum. Of the three releases from Emilien Allouchery, this is the most singular...but in a really nice way.
House Profile
A brand new producer to the scene. The family estate reaches back four generations and sits in the heart of the petite Montagne de Reims with vineyards in Ecueil and Villedommange. He works with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and focuses on creating vintage specific expressions and vinifies in oak and sandstone amphora. These are unique and beautifully expressive wines that are both academically fascinating and hedonistically gorgeous.
