'Les Sablonnnières roughly translates as 'sandy lane', which gives you a good idea about the terroir. Margot and Charlotte's first Pinot Noir is a total contrast to their Chardonnay, but boy is it good! Plump and round on the front end, there is an amazingly vinous 'red wine' like palate. Not what I was expecting! There's a toasty, saline element with pink grapefruit and a chewy finish full of cherries. This is crying out for food and contemplation!
House Profile
Having brought on Maxime Oudiette in 2021, we subsequently heard about another 'Oudiette' brand making waves in the Petit Moran. Margot and Charlotte are cousins of Maxime and, in 2014, joined their mother, Florence, in managing their 2.5ha holdings in Beaunay and Celle les Condes. They began vinifiying their first bottles in 2017 and four years later, their first cuvee, Uni Terre, was born.
