Pure Chardonnay created from a single parcel in Chouilly planted in 1955. On the nose there is delicate ripe citrus, green apple and lychee with light vanilla and some toasted elements. The palate shows a fresh vibrancy opening up to an expressive, full-bodied and consistent mouth feel. There is a lovely lemon note on the finish with great length and a real chalky sensation.

House Profile

These guys have been knocking it out of the park over the last few years. The house dates back to the early 20th Century but has been given a new lease of life with the introduction of Clemente and Antoine in the last decade or so. They work with 44 plots in Cramant, Mesnil, Chouilly, Oiry and Oger but have key plots in the fabulous single vineyards of Chetillons and Mont Aigu among others. They produce wines that are beautifully honest to the terroir and I can't wait to see what the next few years brings for them.

"This wine is the child of the 1.44ha old-vine plot in Chouilly, the vineyard where the brothers first started their single-vineyard Champagne project. More than half of the wine is oak-fermented, and this has left its mark on the aromatics. Fruit-packed but remaining restrained, both the nose and palate deserve more time. Beautifully textured and impressively concentrated, this bold cuvée from the 2014 harvest has fine potential - 92." Essi Avellan MW's top grower Champagnes by score – Club Oenologique April 2023

"This reinvigorated estate kept back its 2013 releases until after the 2014s and 2015s due to the tense, slow-maturing nature of the vintage. From a single-parcel in Chouilly, this wears its nine years on lees lightly, with an extremely fine, discreet intensity of bright mandarin, tangy bake apricots, subtle pecan and brown pastry, remaining laser-bright whilst also showing some of the warmth – in aroma at least – of maturity. Involving, detailed and mineral. 47% vinified in oak – 93."
